One of the reasons I returned to Paris
in 2007 was to keep a promise that I made to the cats
of Montmartre Cemetery that I would help in the best way
I could. I spent a lot of time talking to the very dedicated
people who have been tending to them for twenty years
or more in an attempt to understand the history and current
situation. I attended a meeting with the city to help
fight for their continued care. There is still much work
to do to improve their situation and assist the caregivers.
I have taken a lot of pictures from which I am creating
cards and calendars and I am selling them on Cafepress.
I am also contributing stock images to various agencies
of all the cats and kittens that have been in my care.
My hope is to help L'Ecole
du Chat in Paris, the official organization that speaks
for the cats at Montmartre Cemetery, and organizations
in Toronto that help to find homes for stray and abandoned
cats.
